STEAM ~ Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts Mathematics

Wenonah Elementary School is pleased to announce a partnership with James Madison University to offer an after school STEM enrichment program to our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students.  The mission of the STEM Academy is to prepare students, through rigorous and relevant content, to be productive and successful citizens by developing a strong work ethic and the higher-level critical thinking skills needed to solve problems in the real world.  We want to emphasize high standards and continuous improvement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and to prepare them for citizenship, college, and global competition in the 21st century.

All activities are SOL-based and will allow students to work with Wenonah teachers and JMU students to explore hands-on, project based activities.

ELLevation Tutoring

The ESL after-school tutoring program will focus on strengthening literacy skills, but will also allow ESL students an opportunity to use their English to participate in games, activities, and projects.
